Paramotor Training in Malaysia
Paramotor Course allow you to learn it in a quickest and easiest way to fly. In just a few days you'll go from staring up at the clouds to soaring above them.
Let's Dreams Come True.
A. Training Package
Paramotoring could be the quickest and easiest way to learn to fly. In just a few days you'll go from staring up at the clouds to soaring above them. It's a dream come true for many. This adventure provides the kickstart to your paramotoring experience.

This learning adventure provides you an English-speaking experienced paramotor instructor and top quality paramotor equipment to learn and practise with. The heavily supervised practical environment is conducive for learning and sharing. First solo flights are controlled by two-way radio so the instructor can tell the student exactly what to do.

You could be piloting your paramotor on your own within four to five days of good tuition. However, this depends on your aptitude to learn and skills to adapt. Some people are natural at the sport, and some take longer to learn.
Motorised paragliding, just like any other sport requires plenty of observation, planning, practise, patience, precision and humbleness to master. There is little margin for error. Any small mistake made, whether in pre-flight or during flight, can be fatal. It is extremely important to be competent in evaluating the weather and equipment conditions besides appropriate flying skills. Learning will continue long after the course has completed.

If you prefer to tryout a motorised paragliding on a trike with the pilot before committing to a full flight course, we have weekend discovery flights.

Off site training might be considered if you have at least 4 confirmed participants. Travel costs for instructor may be added.

Eligibility

Participants should be above 16 years old and of matured mind and have the patience. Course is conducted in English language.
A paramotor engine with fuel and wings add over 20kgs of weight to your bodyweight. Participants must be able to withstand this additional weight.
Some fitness is required as you may be moving around a lot and possibly under hot, humid tropical weather.

Licensing

If your aim is attain a motorised paragliding license after the learning course, you can sit for a practical test to show your competency in basic flying skills (taking off, ascending, descending, landing). If you pass, you will be issued a PPG Completion of Training Certificate from the Kelab Sukan Paramotor 1 Malaysia. This certificate will be use when CAAM issue the Paramotor Licence.

Note that each country has its own paragliding and motorised paragliding license, and its own governing body for the sport. There may also be several institutions offering its own licenses in a country. Currently there are no universal/International licenses like the ones available with scuba diving.

Safety

With the proper training and care, motorized paragliding is a very safe sport. Basically it comes down to common sense and choosing the correct flying location and meteorological conditions. Powered paragliding is actually the safest form of paragliding for several reasons:
You have more options for take off as one is not dependant on unpredictable wind conditions high in the mountains. Flying normally takes place in open areas away from obstructions that can cause turbulent air. Usually, in Malaysia, the most enjoyable and stable flying conditions occur in the morning and evening. Normal paragliders require a run off slope for momentum besides a waiting for the right wind conditions.

There are more options when choosing landing sites or avoiding obstacles. If a pilot is not happy with the landing approach by either being to short or possibly overshooting the landing area, then all that is required is to throttle ahead to a better location.

Modern equipment and particularly wing technology has evolved a great deal in recent years. Wings are far more forgiving and predictable in behaviour. Wing designs are often tested to around 12 times their recommended load limits before being sold to customers. Each line to the wing is made of Kevlar and is capable of supporting around 200kgs. From this, it is easy to see the safety margins when looking at the overall wing which has around 20-30 lines altogether connecting the wing to the riser

Day One

First day is spent in orientation, a brief classroom briefing and the ground handling of Canopy. The various parts of the paramotor and their functions are taught. Do's and dont's of Paramotor flying is explained. A briefing on the various safety measures, its basic care & maintenance and Inspection is given.

During ground training you are taught the following:
1. Theory of paramotoring
2. Understanding the engine
3. Inflation and take-off run with a dummy paramotor
4. Thorough ground handling with the paramotor
5. Assembling the paramotor
6. Ground run with the paramotor
7. Getting the feel of the throttle
8. Video session & classroom lecture.

Day Two

On the second day you practice take offs and landing with the help of a winch. You will be winched up to a height of 50 feet with a dummy paramotor. You'll be carefully guided with the help of Instruction radios to do a few take offs, gentle turns and landings. Thereafter you'll participate in the assembly and fitting of the paramotor. Follow the Inspection procedures. Start up the engine for warming up. You make your first powered runs on the ground. A team of one Instructor & two assistants will be helping you around.
